Illustration Friday: Egg

First IF challenge I have participated in for a while...For this challenge I wanted to create a design inspired by intricately hand painted eggs. I wanted to try different colors on the egg but in the end I went with purple as the dominating color (which also happens to be one of my favorite colors)! I hope you like it.

Medium is Illustrator CS6.

Infinite Scroll Monster project

Last weekend I signed up with the Sketchbook Project's Infinite Scroll Monster Project. The project was open to 500 artists (now 750). Spots were filling up very fast so I made sure to sign up as soon as I saw their email. Sketchbook Project is providing the head and feet of the monster and each participant was given a template for the 'in between' part. I imagined a furry middle for the monster with some brightly colored stripes and scales. Now that I am finished, of course I feel I should have used the space more but I feel this came out pretty good!

If they do another project like this in the future I will definitely sign up.

IF~Snow

I love that this week's topic is Snow because I have the perfect illustration for it. I created this illustration earlier in the year for a client. Media is Photoshop.

I painted the design using Photoshop, and I used custom brushes for the texture in the leaves and poinsettia flowers. I highly recommend using custom brushes over the default brushes in Photoshop!
