Winter Botanical Items Being Sold @ Party City!

Early in 2012, I got a freelance project from a company called Amscan, who makes party supplies and other goods for a big box store called Party City. I designed some concepts for a Christmas plate and napkin set, which was later titled Winter Botanical. My illustration also got made into cups and a rectangular tablecloth. My line is now on the Party City website. Today being Cyber Monday, you can get free shipping or $10 off orders of $65 or more. The coupon code for that is PCG2RS. The patterned tableware also happens to be 50% off! For example, the Winter Botanical lunch plate 60 count packs are on sale now for $8.90 instead of $17.90--all items come in big party packs, which makes for a great bargain! If you are planning an especially big party you can purchase, online, the Mega or Grand party kits, each with over 15% in savings.

I have the items at home as well, here is a picture:

And some original art:

I painted the design using Photoshop, and I used custom brushes for the texture in the leaves and poinsettia flowers. I highly recommend using custom brushes over the default brushes in Photoshop!

You can also purchase Winter Botanical tableware at the Party City stores!
Happy Holidays! :-)

IF~Haunt

I hope everyone had a great Halloween! For this week's IF challenge, Haunt, I have a pen and ink drawing of a haunted house! I drew with a combination of a Sharpie pen, Copic pens and little bits of ink washes.
It was a fun drawing to make!

Halloween Illustrations

Been a long time since I've posted anything new. Had a very busy summer and I'm a new aunt to the most adorable nephew. :-D
I have been doing some freelance work but also my own work too. Since it's October I thought I would post some new Halloween pieces. My favorite is the Halloween Faces pattern. I want to make it (and Fall Leaves) true repeating patterns so that I can place them on different items (such as gift wrap). I've been looking at some good tutorials online for this. I love the newest version of Adobe Illustrator so I am looking forward to trying out some new repeating patterns. :-)
The Pumpkin pattern was a combination of Illustrator and Photoshop work. For my scarecrow character, I may change the ribbon on his hat but I haven't decided yet...I may keep it.
I hope you enjoy!

Happy Halloween! :-)

Space Aliens

For this week's IF topic, which is Space, I have decided to post a sketchbook piece that I did last year. I knew I had something in my art pile that had space aliens in it! Enjoy. :-)

Medium is pen & ink/acrylics.

IF~Kernel

For Kernel I chose to do an illustration of a Victorian lady in a dress inspired by a pistachio. I wanted to do something different instead of a more literal take on the word. Hope you like it. :-)
